We are committed to ensuring that our events are accessible to every teacher and every student.
We have provided full details below of the accessibility measures that are in place for in-person and online events.
To plan assistance in advance or ask any questions, please email events@hoddereducation.co.uk and we will do our utmost to support you.
In-person events
Facilities and access
- We aim to use venues that are close to public transport and we can provide maps that show the most accessible routes.
- We use wheelchair-friendly venues that comply with the Wheelchair Access Regulations UK. Inside most venues there are door controls, level access and lifts.
- All venues have accessible toilet facilities.
- We place signage at all venues, which is clear, directional and located in the public areas.
- Seating can be reserved for teachers and/or students. Please email events@hoddereducation.co.uk to arrange this.
- Learning Support Assistants can attend our Student Conferences for free, alongside a paid student place.
- We strive to ensure that suitable prayer rooms are available at the venues we use.
- Dietary requirements are requested in advance of our events.
Vision and hearing support
- We welcome teachers and/or students who have an assistance dog but we would appreciate advance notification.
- Induction loop facilities are available at most venues. We are also happy to arrange BSL translators if required.
- To arrange any of the above, please email events@hoddereducation.co.uk.
Fire safety and risk assessment
- All venues have an approved Health and Safety Management Plan that incorporates Fire Safety Policy and Fire Evacuation Procedures.
- All venues have emergency personnel on duty to act as Fire Marshalls and First Aiders. The Hodder Education on-site representative is also briefed on the fire evacuation procedure.
- If you require a risk assessment form for an event, please let us know and we will happily provide one.
Online events
Course materials
- Our trainers are asked to create slides and resources that are clear, easy to read and in line with accessibility guidelines.
Closed captions
- Real-time closed captions are available in Zoom for online events.
Keyboard navigation
- The Zoom interface and platform can be easily navigated using only a keyboard.
Technical support
- We offer technical support before and during online events. Read our FAQs or email events@hoddereducation.co.uk.
